Merry & Mug-nificent Design Contest

Calling All Artists!

The Durham German Market (DGM) is seeking a talented artist to create the featured design for our 2025 Handmade Glühwein Mug! This is your chance to have your artwork showcased on a cherished holiday keepsake while gaining exposure and recognition in the local arts community.

What You’ll Win:

Your design will be featured on the official 2025 DGM locally Handmade Glühwein Mug, by Sarah Howe at Sarah's House of Clay .
You may use the Logo in any portfolio and promotional materials to showcase your work.
A free vendor event space under the pavilion at the 2025 Durham German Market to display and sell your artwork.
Inclusion on our DGM promotional flyer, on the DGM website, and a feature in the DGM program.

Contest Rules

Open to all ages and abilities.
Submissions must be received by May 15th, 2025.
Artwork should be black & white (no shading or color).
Artwork should say "Durham" in the design.
The design must be hand-drawn or digitally created and should reflect the spirit of a traditional German Christmas Market.
The artwork will be converted into a clay stamp for the handmade mug, so it must fit within a 2” x 2” space and should not contain fine details that could be lost in the stamping process.
No AI-generated artwork will be accepted.

Submission Details

Artists must submit a high-resolution PNG or JPG file of their design to DGM@wildlyinclusivelc.com with the subject line "DGM Design Contest Submission".
Submissions should include the artist's name, contact information, and a short description of the design inspiration.

How the Winner is Chosen

Top 3 finalists will be selected by the Wildly Inclusive Learning Collective’s Founders.
Community voting will take place from May 16 – June 1, 2025 via our social media.
The winner will be announced on June 2, 2025!
