The  DGM Tree Decorating Contest invites local businesses, community groups, families, and individuals to sponsor and decorate a holiday tree at the market. Each group designs their tree with creativity, festive flair, and plenty of solar lights to help bring Durham Central Park to life with holiday cheer.

• How it works:

  • Participants sign up in advance to sponsor a tree (covering the cost of the real or fake tree and decorations).

  • Cost $25

  • Trees are set up in the market area beginning at 1pm on event day.

  • Decorating takes place before the market opens, and trees remain lit throughout the evening. Break down begins at 830pm that night.

• Voting & Prizes:

  • The winning 3 trees receive a prize, with first place receiving a large gift basket of DGM and WILC merch!

  • All participating groups are recognized in DGM’s advertising and social media for their contribution.

• Market attendees vote virtually for their favorite decorated tree during the event.
